"I believe Oregon’s tax system must prioritize local needs while promoting ethical, responsible spending. My goal is to advocate for balanced budgets that invest directly in our communities. With federal infrastructure funding on the decline, it is imperative that we pursue innovative solutions—such as bonds and alternative revenue sources—to finance critical programs and services. I support tax policies and want to ensure as an elected that they are locally focused, creatively funded, and ethically managed. I am committed to leveraging every available resource to build a sustainable future for our schools, our workers, and our community at large."

DESCRIBE THE RELATIONSHIP YOU THINK THE SCHOOL BOARD SHOULD HAVE WITH THE TEACHERS UNION:

"I have always been a strong supporter of unions and workers’ right to organize. During the teachers' strike, I stood in solidarity with our educators...

As compared to the current board, my actions would have been different because I have strong values guiding how I show up in the world. Some claimed the teachers would be the cause of the budget collapse. The demands made were not excessive; they were a call for our school district to meet the basic standards that our children deserve. Had I been in a position to influence decision-making sooner, I would have worked proactively to reach a fair agreement, ensuring that our educators—and by extension, our students—received timely and just support."
