Instrument Music/Tuition Program 2019
Thank you for your interest in the Instrumental Music Tuition Program at St John Paul II College. Our music tutors are among the best in the ACT and deliver well-planned in-depth music lessons with your child's musical ambitions always kept as the number one priority.
Lessons are held in the Performing Arts Centre at St John Paul II College. Students who are a part of this program are also encouraged to join one of the St John Paul II College bands, to experience the pleasure and challenge of playing with others.

Conditions for the Instrumental Music/Tuition Program
Lesson fees

* Instrumental lessons are charged at $38.50 per half hour. Payment arrangements are made between parents/guardians
and the Music Tutor.
* Lessons are invoiced on a per term basis, unless otherwise negotiated with the Music Tutor.
* Each term's lesson fees must be paid in full by the end of Week 2 of each term. Failure to pay will result in lessons being
ceased until payment has been made in full. Please note that parents/guardians are liable for upfront payment for the
whole term, unless previous arrangements have been made with the Music Tutor.

Student expectations

* Students are expected to practise regularly to develop skills being taught in the lessons.
* Students must arrive 5 minutes early for their lessons, and be fully prepared.
* Students are not to have lessons during Pastoral Care, at the beginning of the school day.

Absence from lessons

* It is the responsibility of the student to attend their lesson at their allocated time. Music Tutors will seek out a student
for a maximum of three times per term, after this it will be treated as a "no-show".
* 48 hours notice of a planned absence is required for a make-up lesson to be allocated.
* If a student is ill on the day of their lesson, parents/guardians are to notify the Music Tutor directly before 8am, or their
lesson will be forfeited and no make-up lesson allocated.
* A maximum of two make-up lessons are allowed per term.

Ceasing lessons

* A minimum of two weeks written notice, to the Music Tutor, is required if a student will not be continuing with music
lessons the following term. Cancellation of lessons at the beginning of the term will result in a charge equivalent to a full
term's fees.

Any issues with a Music Tutor must be reported directly to the Instrumental Music Coordinator or Band & Music Teacher.
