The Volunteer Code of Conduct for Maruf outlines the following professional standards:

Volunteers must act honestly and ethically during their volunteer duties.

They should treat all Maruf employees, volunteers, and community members with respect and dignity.

Discrimination based on ethnic, national, or cultural differences is prohibited.

Harassment, bullying, or mistreatment of staff or other volunteers is not tolerated.

Volunteers must comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws while representing Maruf.

They are responsible for upholding the Code of Conduct and ensuring accountability.

Volunteers should seek assistance if they have questions about any volunteer guidelines, including the Code of Conduct. Any concerns or formal complaints can be addressed to their local staff partner or the leadership team.

Additionally, Maruf requests volunteers to be reliable and punctual for scheduled activities, and to notify a staff member if they will be absent or late. Tobacco or e-cigarette use is prohibited on Maruf premises, at events, or while representing Maruf. Volunteers may be required to complete paperwork or undergo a background check for certain roles. The dress code is casual, but clothing with offensive language or displays of alcohol, tobacco, and inappropriate attire are strictly prohibited. *
