PTN Committee Membership
The Preservation Trades Network has four committees open for PTN members to join. These include:
  • Media and Communications
  • Membership and Development
  • Education and Training
  • Awards and Scholarships
Committee members must be active PTN members in good standing, able to serve 1-year terms, and meet at least quarterly. Meetings can be virtual and schedules will be determined by the committee members. If you are interested in joining a committee, please review and fill out the information on this form.

COMMITTEE PRIORITIES AND DUTIES
Please review the following descriptions and duties of the Committees. Then, select which ones you are willing and able to serve on. The Board will review applications and make selections. Media and Communications
Chair: Jake Jones

Members: 2 - 4 needed
This committee maintains outward facing-communications about the organization. fosters communications between members, and evaluates media strategies and adapt/develop new approaches and strategies. Primary duties include:
  • Preparing and sending the quarterly PTN Newsletter
  • Preparing and sending the printed Annual Report
  • Updating and maintaining social media platforms, primarily Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Updating and maintaining the website
  • Preparing and sharing IPTW outreach
Membership and Development Chair: Jeff Larry Co-chair: Dan Totten
Members: 2 - 4 needed
This committee helps maintain and expand PTN membership; develop relationships with like-minded businesses, organizations and people; and develop new funding streams to the organization.
Primary duties include:
  • Reviewing and developing membership benefits
  • Creating engagement opportunities for existing and prospective members
  • Preparing and managing event sponsorships
  • Finding and pursuing relevant grant and funding opportunities
  • Managing existing grants
Education and Training
Chair: John McRitchie
Co-chair: Chad Nelson
Members: 4 - 6 needed
This committee organizes and administers training and educational events, coordinates educational delivery with instructors and demonstrators, and develops new training and educational opportunities.
Primary duties include:
  • Arranging IPTW demonstrators, to include recruitment, scheduling, and related outreach.
  • Arranging IPTW pre-conference workshops, to include recruitment of instructors, scheduling, agreements, and outreach.
  • Establishing event registrations.
  • Supporting on-site logistics at training events.
  • Finding opportunities to support or integrate with existing training and educational opportunities.
Awards and Scholarships
Chair: Natalie Henshaw
Co-chair: Joe Tokarsky
Members: Mary Bindas, Dave Mertz, 1 needed
This committee organizes, administers, and operates scholarship funds; coordinates the Askins Awards with the Askins Committee; and maintains, develops, and increases scholarship funds.
Primary duties include:
  • Operating the Misia Leonard Scholarship, to include preparing the application, reviewing applicants, and awarding scholarships.
  • Operating the Christopher Robinson Scholarship, to include preparing a Standard Operating Procedure and preparing for a 2025 application period.
  • Coordinating with the Askins Committee, to include preparing the application and promoting outreach
  • Planning and executing the IPTW Auction Dinner, to include soliciting donations, preparing a silent and live auction, and delegating logistical tasks to Misia Leonard recipients
  • Finding additional funding streams to support the scholarship and awards funds.
