1. Volunteer agrees to donate services and/or time to Love on a Mission. Volunteer agrees that he/she/them will not be considered to be an employee of the non-profit, for any purpose. Volunteer is not entitled to nor expects any present or future salary, wages, or other benefits for these voluntary services.
2. Volunteer agrees to follow the supervision and direction of any personnel, employee, or volunteer, to whom volunteer has been assigned to perform services, and to participate in any training required by the non-profit in order to perform the voluntary services.
3. Volunteer agrees that if volunteer is injured during the course of a project involving Love on a Mission, Volunteer is NOT covered by a worker’s compensation plan. Volunteer authorizes Love on a Mission to seek emergency medical treatment on volunteer’s behalf in case of injury, accident, or illness that may arise as a result of involvement as a volunteer with the organization. Volunteer is responsible for medical costs that may be incurred by such accident, illness, or injury.
4. Volunteer further understands that if volunteer is responsible for injuries to third parties or damages to their property while acting outside the scope of assigned volunteer duties, said volunteer may be held personally liable for any monetary damages a court may award to the injured party.
5. Volunteers will undertake to ensure that they will not demonstrate the following inappropriate behavior: • Forcing participants into any activity which makes them feel uncomfortable.
• Holding or touching a participant in a manner that is inappropriate or perceived as inappropriate by the other person.
• Making lewd, racist, ethnic or sexually suggestive comments, even if meant as a joke.
• Discrimination based on issues related to gender, ability, race, religion, class, age, national origin, marital status, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
Please note, your behavior on a day to day basis, even when not directly involved with a Love on a Mission event/activity, is a reflection of the organization as a whole. It is expected that all volunteers maintain a positive public image. This includes behavior/activity on all forms of social media. Any violation of inappropriate behaviors outlined above will result in the immediate dismissal of said volunteer from any activities involving Love on a Mission.
6. Volunteers of the non-profit are not permitted to engage in any interactions/relations that could be considered of a sexual nature with any individuals who participate in the Love on a Mission Youth Group (Youth Group consists of individuals under the age of 19). Any violation of this policy will result in the immediate dismissal of said volunteer from any activities involving Love on a Mission.
7. Volunteer further agrees that volunteer will fully cooperate with the charity and its agents in any investigation, lawsuit, arbitration, or any other legal or quasi-legal proceedings that arise from matters covered by this agreement. Volunteer further agrees to notify the non-profit immediately of any incident that occurs or may occur within the knowledge of the volunteer, which gives rise to liability on the part of the volunteer of the non-profit.
