Eid With Muslims
With the arrival of Eidul Adha (Islamic Festival of Sacrifice), the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at has launched a unique campaign titled “Eid With A Muslim Friend,” which gives all Canadians an opportunity to participate in Eid with their Canadian Muslim friends. On August 21, 2018, more than one billion Muslims across the world will celebrate Eidul Adha, which marks the end of the Islamic pilgrimage known as Hajj.
This national campaign allows Canadians to experience the Eid festivities and learn about why Muslims celebrate Eid. During Eidul Adha, Muslims commemorate and remember Prophet Abraham's (peace be upon him) sacrifice by slaughtering an animal such as a sheep, cow or goat. The meat from the sacrifice of Eid ulAdha is mostly given away to friends, family and those in need.
