You are invited to submit a proposal to present a breakout session on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at the 2017 VACTEA Conference at the Omni Homestead Resort. We are seeking sessions that will help teachers, counselors, administrators, and business partners to meet the challenges of the future.

We invite you to participate in the conference by submitting your most innovative idea as a possible presentation. Session proposals that include relevant data/statistics will receive top consideration. All breakout sessions will be one hour.

Presentations may address, but are not limited to, the following topics:
– Addressing hot topics in CTE: STEM, academies, sustainability, emerging disciplines, energy, teacher shortage
– Identifying innovative best practices in CTE
– Implementing effective differentiated teaching methods in CTE
– Contributing to economic development: How CTE makes it happen
– Creating and maintaining business/industry/education partnerships
– Embracing innovation: Building capacity for high-quality curriculum and instruction
– Discussing project-based learning and its role in CTE
– CTE’s role in reducing the achievement gap and its impact on the workforce
– Incorporating innovations in curriculum: CTE, MOOCs

Audio/Video Requirements
Each breakout room will have a screen, LCD projector, and Internet access. Presenters must supply their own laptops and any other needed equipment.

50 to 75 words that will be used in the conference program to persuasively and accurately inform attendees about what to expect from your session. The abstract may include the objective of the presentation, the target audience, and the anticipated benefits for those attending the presentation.
