The Chicago Independent Radio Project (CHIRP Radio) is a volunteer driven, listener-supported radio station built and run by independent-minded music and arts fans. CHIRP is always live and local, and connects Chicago’s diverse creative communities through its programming and events.

CHIRP Radio invites enterprising young professionals to become founding members of the CHIRP Radio Associate Board. This body provides an exciting platform for emerging leaders and radio enthusiasts, serving as a unique space for networking, personal growth, and involvement in vibrant CHIRP events. As part of the Associate Board, members are granted an opportunity to meaningfully impact community radio in Chicago, fostering a commitment to the mission, values, and activities of CHIRP Radio.

To ensure a cohesive and productive Associate Board, members are expected to commit to the following:

- A minimum 1-year term commitment during which Associate Board members are expected to attend at least 75% of scheduled Associate Board meetings and participate in the station's events and fundraising initiatives.

-The capability and enthusiasm to contribute to the Associate Board's annual fundraising goals through personal fundraising efforts or sponsorships.

-A readiness and willingness to advocate for CHIRP Radio within their personal, creative, and professional networks, playing a key role in augmenting the station's visibility and support within the wider Chicago community.

-A collaborative mindset and willingness to engage with both internal and external partners

Additional Details regarding the CHIRP Associate Board:

-Members should be 21-35 years of age.

-The inaugural group will collaborate with the CHIRP Board of Directors to establish the Associate Board bylaws, leadership structure, and financial commitments.

-One member of the Associate Board leadership team will serve as an ex-officio member of the CHIRP Board of Directors.

-The members of the Associate Board will  chart the scope of their networking, social, and fundraising events, ensuring a balanced mix of fun, professional development, and meaningful contribution to CHIRP Radio.
