Oregon Community Trees and the Oregon Department of Forestry are pleased to announce a call for poster presentations for the 2025 Oregon Urban & Community Forestry Conference!
The year's conference is to be held Thursday, May 15th, 2025 at Venue 252 in Eugene, Oregon. The conference participants includes arborists, city foresters, city planners, urban tree managers, landscape architects, contractors, tree care professionals, nursery professionals, students, academics, natural resources managers, municipal governments and local forestry leaders from communities across Oregon.
The conference committee is seeking poster presentations that reflect this year's theme, Growing Together: Collaboration and Diverse Voices in Urban Forestry. Posters will be selected based on their focus on expanding the benefits of collaboration and empowering a diverse range of voices and future leaders in urban and community forestry.
When should I set up my poster?
We ask that poster presenters arrive the day before the conference (May 14th from 12-4:30 p.m.) or the morning of the Conference (May 15th from 8 - 8:30 a.m.) to set up their posters. I will be on hand to help with the setup and to answer any questions you may have starting at 8 a.m. We will have poster boards and stands for the poster displays.
Do I need to stay with my poster all day?
No, you do not need to stay with your poster all day. The agenda will include a morning and afternoon break, an hour for lunch, and a networking event from 3:30 to 5 pm. Many people use breaks and networking time to review posters. Please plan to be near your poster during these times to discuss your work. We hope that some of the most wonderful conversations at this year’s UCF Conference will happen around a poster!
How big should I make my poster?
This year the poster dimensions are limited to 30” x 40”. Posters may be smaller, but they should not exceed these dimensions. Let me know if you need more space and I will try and accommodate you.
What makes a quality poster?
Great question! Good images and graphics with clear headers and subtitles are the key elements. Don’t try to fit too much information on your poster. Please submit your application by April 23rd, 2025.
