2026 Wyo Wonders Workshop Registration
Summer workshops are two-day, in-person experiences. Each course will explore the Wyo Wonders curriculum through a different professional development focus. A field trip is included at each location. (Each day will be 8 hours to accommodate UW credit requirements.)

June 24-25, Wright:
Journey to Wright where we will experience a field trip with Thunder Basin Coal Company. Join us for a boots-on-the-ground look at Black Thunder Coal Mine, one of the world's largest surface coal mines which produces over 60 million tons of coal annually. In your downtime, hit the links at Haycreek Golf Club, watch the buffalo roam at Durham Bison Ranch, or take a swim in the lazy river at the Wright Recreation Center. With a population just under 2,000, Wright offers enough attractions to keep you busy while maintaining a small-town, Wyoming feel that is calling your name this summer!

July 8-9, Greybull: Travel to north-central Wyoming this summer to experience Greybull! For this field experience, we will be learning about Wyoming-specific agriculture from the Shoshone & South Big Horn Conservation Districts. We will venture to Leavitt Reservoir and learn more about water in our desert state! To round out your agricultural experience, pick up some honey at River Road Honey and browse hydroponic produce at Greybull Valley Produce. Take in the sites of nearby Devil's Kitchen or Shell Falls. Greybull offers plenty of attractions such as the Greybull Museum, Red Gulch Dinosaur Tracksite, and the Museum of Flight & Aerial Firefighting.

July 15-16, Casper: Spend a couple days in central Wyoming's big city where our field experience will focus on outdoor recreation and tourism. We will learn more information about the industry from Visit Casper before breaking off into three field trip options. Choose from tying your own fly fishing flies, learning how to identify local plants and flowers, or browsing the Fort Caspar Museum. In your down time, enjoy all the shopping and dining Casper has to offer, or try something unique such as mini golf or an event at David Street Station.

Course 1: Creating Wyoming Stewards Through the exploration of Wyo Wonders, learn how, as Wyoming citizens, we embrace stewardship, recognize the uniqueness of Wyoming’s industry, and develop in the personal and shared responsibility of our natural resources.

Course 4: Wyoming Road Trip: Place-Based Education (New this summer!) Using examples of industry in Wyoming, participants will consider place-based education as it relates to their specific students and communities as well as Wyoming as a whole.

Reminder: Workshops run approximately 9:00 - 5:00 both days. We provide lunch and snacks. If you sign up for the UW credit, we will reimburse the credit fee ($60).
