Thank you for volunteering with our Trash Trap program!
As of July 2024, we have 6 operational "Trash Traps" in Durham Third Fork Creek, Durham Northeast Creek, Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Pittsboro, and plan to add at least 2 within the next year.
Sign up to be part of the crew at any of the locations and you're welcome to join any (or all!!) of the clean outs at that location. We will typically have clean outs on the last Saturday of every month, and we'll send out emails 2 weeks before each clean out to remind everyone and confirm who will be able to make it. In 2024, clean ups will be held: 1/27, 3/16, 4/27, 5/25, 6/29, 7/27, 8/31, 9/28, 10/26 & 11/30.
To become a volunteer, we have two options:
- Basic volunteer - You'll get all the invitations/emails about the clean-outs and you're welcome to join whenever you can! You will become an official Haw River Assembly Member for a year for free ($0)
- Official Trash Trap Team Member (recommended!) - For $25, get an exclusive, special made volunteer t-shirt.
