Parent and Community School Values and Beliefs Input
We are in the process of evaluating our values and beliefs as a school district. We would like your input on helping us shape what is important to Wells ISD as we embark on a new school year with new leadership.
I am a:
Community Member (you do not have children in school, but want to offer input)
I value _____________ most in education: (check up to 3 that apply). Beyond academic proficiency, these values are what we hope students take with them into their futures by examples and lessons from us as a school.
collaboration - having the ability to work with someone to produce or create something
perseverance - not giving up or quitting when the task gets difficult or hard
respect - due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others
personal integrity - the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles
equity - the quality of being fair and impartial
intellectual curiosity - a strong desire to know or learn something
appreciation of diversity - or an appreciating and recognizing that all the people are unique in their own way
I believe ____________________. (A school’s beliefs about learning form the basis for teaching and learning practices and decisions.)
All students have the potential to achieve, although at different paces
Each student has something uniquely individual to offer their school and community
Students learn best when instruction provides students with the opportunity to solve authentic problems
Students should experience equal opportunities to work alone and to reflect on their learning and also to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others
Students must feel safe, both physically and emotionally, in their school and their classrooms
The use of technology is a vital tool in teaching students and for students to teach themselves
I would like to be contacted to participate in approximately 12 hours of school planning this summer. This planning will help shape the Vision and Mission for Wells ISD.
