Park Rx Day is organized by Healthy Parks, Healthy People: Bay Area, a collaborative comprising more than 30 park, health, and community-based organizations united by a vision to improve the health and wellbeing of all Bay Area residents, especially those with high health needs, through the regular use and enjoyment of parks and public lands.
Kicking off National Park Week, parks, healthcare agencies, service providers and communities nationwide will be celebrating the 3rd National Park Rx Day! Join us as Richmond hosts their 3rd Annual Park Rx Day from 11 AM - 2 PM at JFK Park.
Join us for fun activities such as:• Giveaways• Fitness obstacle courses• Walk with a Doc• Bike Rodeo• Health screenings• Face painting• Mixed martial arts demonstrations• And much more!
Below are the descriptions of the type of volunteers we need for Park Rx Day. We need at least 30 volunteers, so every bit helps! If you can do multiple shifts, that would be very much appreciated.
Descriptions of Volunteers Needed:
Set Up 9 AM - 11 AM:Setting up information booths and tables, organizing fitness obstacle course, directing organizations to locations
Registration 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM:Helping the event register participants to sign in, direct participants to booths and activities, pass out goodie bags and lunch tickets, etc.
Supervise Activity Booths/Exercise Activities 10:45 AM - 1:45 PM:Leading/assisting community participants with the activity booth (i.e. Giving verbal instructions on how to do obstacle course, demonstrating how to work the exercising machines in park)
Lunch 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM:Helping with setting up lunch and passing out food to participants and volunteers.
Clean Up 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM:Wrapping up event, putting away tables and booths, picking up trash.
Prior to the event, email confirmations will be sent out.
All volunteers will meet at:JFK Park at S 41st St at your allotted shift time.
