2021 Speaking Advocate Training Program
These classes are an updated online version of our Opening Minds, Opening Doors (OMOD) public speaker training program for adults with disabilities. We combine the art of storytelling with public speaking skills, so our speakers can bring their stories to the general public and challenge misconceptions about what it means to live with a disability. The new program will include training to participate in production skills and creating content for our new podcast to be launched in 2021.

Previously participation in these trainings has been limited to residents of Central Texas, Houston and El Paso, so we are excited to be able to offer this opportunity to all residents of Texas.

Although the skills taught in the classes are progressive and build throughout the units, they are also designed to be stand alone classes. This will allow new participants to become fully grounded in the program while allowing our members to refresh their skills as they feel the need.
