Catholic School parents in the Diocese of Harrisburg may make an application for consideration for virtual learning for a child for the 2021-22 school year. Applications will ONLY be considered for documented medical situations. Please note that COVID-19 is not a sufficient reason in and of itself to warrant virtual learning for the 2021-22 school year.
Please complete the Google Form application below. In addition, email all medical documentation to
virtualrequest@hbgdiocese.org, with the subject line: “application for virtual learning.” All necessary medical documentation must be attached as a PDF to the email. The Diocesan Reopening Committee for 2021-22, a group that consists of school leaders and medical professionals, will consider the applications. All applications will be kept in confidence. Applications will not be considered without an email providing the medical documentation.
Note that decisions will be made in consultation with the principal of the school the child attends and will depend, in part, on the ability of the school to accommodate the request. Note, too, that, if the application is granted, permission to learn virtually can be withdrawn if the parents or student do not cooperate with the school’s expectations for virtual learning. Students who attend school virtually are ineligible for in-person extracurricular activities while attending virtually.
*Requests for an extension to this deadline should be sent to
virtualrequest@hbgdiocese.org with an explanation.
