GSUEJ 2018-19 Abstract Submission Form
**If you are interested in becoming an editor of the Galbraith Society journal this year, please also submit an application at https://goo.gl/forms/6fkgw8ubTB5y51Bb2! **

**The submission deadline for academic research and review articles is Friday, 11th January, 2019, 11:59 PM**

Galbraith Society Undergraduate Engineering Journal (GSUEJ) publishes research conducted by undergraduate students in order to encourage intellectual exploration across the various engineering disciplines. We seek to contribute to the scientific community by publishing articles that have scientific merit and also are of interest to the general engineering research community. We are committed to publishing high-quality research, and all articles will be peer reviewed using a double-blind process.

Student and research projects at all departments are welcome!

Each student interesting in publishing for the GSUEJ must submit an abstract to the Galbraith Society to be considered for publication (300 words maximum).

**Author Guidelines**: The following types of articles are published in the Galbraith Society Undergraduate Engineering Journal.
1. Research Articles
Research Articles present original research in a specific field, and should address a novel question in the field of engineering. An abstract (~300) words must be submitted by 11th January, 2019 for consideration. If the abstract has been accepted, authors are then encouraged to submit their full-length articles to the journal as early as possible, since submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.
Abstract format:
Introduction: 1-2 sentence statement providing an overview of the research objective
Methods: 2-3 sentences that describe the experiments and procedures conducted, as well as the experimental setup used
Results: A few sentences describing the outcome of the experiments
Discussion: Describe the significance of the results and research

2.Review Articles
Review Articles, also commonly referred to as Literature Review Articles, are critical evaluations of a broad amount of material that has previously been published regarding a specific topic in research. These are typically published to assess the state of the research on a topic as well as to suggest steps for future research. An abstract (~300) words must be submitted by 11th January, 2019 for consideration. If the abstract has been accepted, authors are then encouraged to submit their full-length articles to the journal as early as possible, since submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.
Abstract format:
Purpose: 1-2 sentences introducing the purpose for writing the literature review
Topic: Describe the main field of research where the review article is being summarized.
Limitations: Identify any aspects of the review where more studies could be used in the scope of the research

3. News/Interest Articles
News or interest articles are short, informative pieces that can address topics related to issues in engineering, or novel and exciting research within engineering. Interviews with a professor involved with this research, or the primary investigator are also encouraged. More information on the format can be found here. News/Interest Articles will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the school year up to the deadline of February 15.
