Thank you for your interest in the 55th North Carolina Spot Festival Pageant. This years pageant will be held Sunday, October 14th (tentative date) in Hampstead, NC (Exact Date and location TBA) . Rehearsal will either be the day before or day of rehearsal. (Information about rehearsal will be updated)

Official Miss Hampstead Festival add- on to compete in Miss North Carolina 2019 Competition. You will have the choice of becoming Miss Hampstead (For Miss) or Miss Hampstead's OT (for Teen) or a Carolina Princess for ages 6-12 if you win your title divison. Please note that we are not a preliminary, we are a festival add-on meaning there are out of pocket cost to attend Miss North Carolina. Miss Hampstead, Miss Hampstead OT and Carolina Princesses will be crowned in January. Unless you are crowned Miss NC or Miss NC OT at Miss NC 2019 you will resume your Spot Title until your reign ends in October 2019.

Attached is the official application, rules/regulations, pageant information and more. Make sure you read the rules/ regulations carefully. The deadline for entry is September 19th, 2018 all applications and payments must be submitted by this date. Payments can be made at earliest convince to confirm a spot.


The basic entry fee is $150.00. All fees are non refundable. Checks should be made payable to the North Carolina Spot Festival Pageant. Entry Fees turned in before August 8th will receive a 25$ discount. Parents and contestant meeting will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 6 pm, this meeting is not mandatory as long as you have all of the required information turned in by the deadline. Head-shot photographs to be used in the program book, newspaper and judging will be due at this time. Images may be slightly re touched but no glitz photos allowed. If you are in need of a photographer La Bella Me Photography will be offering 15 min head-shot shoots with 5 edited head-shots for 100$ select the option below to be contacted about photography. Last chance to purchase in advance tickets.


Rehearsal and lunch/ dinner will either be held Saturday the day before or Sunday before the pageant. (This information will be updated within the next few weeks) We will rehearse one walk through of each area of competition and you will have the opportunity to rehearse your talent. This will not be a dress rehearsal but I recommend bringing your shoes. Lunch will be provided for contestant and one other adult person.

Baby Miss NC Spot Festival Queen- Ages 0-2:

Pageant Rules and Regulations


Thank you for your interest in this year’s Spot Festival Pageant. No required appearances will require an overnight stay unless your become Miss Hampstead or Miss Hampstead's OT, a list of mandatory appearances will be provided upon request if you would like that information before the contract signing . Before competing please make sure that you can be dedicated to a year of fun, events, and hard work! The winners will be expected to sign a contract. Crown, sash, trophies, flowers and many other gifts will be awarded to all category winners. There will be a minimum of a 1000$ Scholarship each awarded to the Miss NC Spot Queen and to the Teen Miss NC Spot Queen upon completing your year of requirements. Spot has a rich heritage upon which we plan to build the future. We are a fully non for profit organization with a team of volunteers that make the Spot Festival happen. The Spot Festival started in 1963 as well as the pageant. Money that is raised at the festival and pageant are divvied up between the five local Topsail Schools and Pender EMS and Fire, in 2014 alone we put back over 50,000$ into the community. This past year the Spot Festival Pageant has also raised funds and volunteered for many other organizations. You will have opportunities to attend many parades, exclusive events, private functions, community fundraisers, choose a charity to work with and so much more.

Since 2013 we have worked with Hunger NC, Wilmington Teen Suicide Prevention, The North Carolina Aquarium Foundation, Clean Water, Pink Heals for Breast Cancer, Make A Wish Foundation, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, The Fallen Fire Fighter Association, Canines for Service, Hampstead Kiwanis, Cape Fear Equine Rescue, Missing Our Mermaid Suicide Prevention, Wade Pregnancy Center, Charlie Ramsey Hat Drive, The Good Shepard Center, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Domestic Violence Shelter of Wilmington, C.H.E.W, NHRMC Foundation, Friends of Animal Services, Anchor of Hope Orphanage, Pretty in Pink, Wrighstville Beach Sea Turtle Project, Snuggle Bug Blessing Bags, Bugles Across America, Childrens Miracle Network, Oceans Cure, and more or . We also hold our annual Christmas Spot elves toy drive that provides complete Christmases for families in our community that are in unexpected situations.

First applications in will receive the last contestant numbers, meaning if your child is the first application and entry fee turned in she will be the last out in her age division. So turn applications in as soon as possible.


Contestants, family members, and chaperons will conduct themselves in a proper manner. Entrant agrees with the time, manner, and method of judging and that the decision of the judges is final. Contestants or contestant parents who show disrespect to their chaperone, family, friends, staff, or anyone else at or during a pageant will receive a five-point deduction from each judge, for each incident at the pageant. This incident should be reported to the director and she will investigate the situation before such deductions are applied. Contestants or reigning royalty who shows disrespect to their chaperone, family, friends, staff, or any one at or during or after a Pageant function or via social media or publicly, may be asked to resign their title.


Only ONE adult chaperon may accompany the contestants at rehearsals. Please, no siblings or other family members. Lunch will be served for the contestant and chaperon.


Only ONE ADULT FEMALE DRESSER will be permitted in the dressing room on the night of the pageant. The dresser will have to stay backstage. A NON PARENT DRESSER IS RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED; MOST CHILDREN DO BETTER HAVING A NON PARENT DRESSER. One additional Hairdresser is allowed backstage but must purchase a pageant admission ticket in advance. Only people with passes will be allowed backstage. No exceptions.

For those competing in talent, entrant must perform a talent routine within the 90 second time limit. Overtime will result in disqualification. All costumes must be approved with Director at meeting in September. Wearing an unapproved talent costume will result in disqualification. Talent music is first come first serve. If you are clogging or tapping you must provide a floor cover as the location does not allow us to uses those shoes directly on there floor. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

Music must be emailed to director by the date of the parent meeting. If contestant is performing on an instrument, she must furnish her own instrument and play live, no pre-taped performances are allowed. Age appropriate music, costumes and performances. This is a family event. Provocative moves will result in disqualification. Contestants must furnish their own talent props. No hazardous props will be allowed (example, fire baton). All props must be approved prior to the final rehearsal by the director. No two contestants may use the same music. Music will be honored on a first-come-first served basis, beginning at the time application with paid entry fee is received. Music must be cut, in mp3 format and ready to go. If you need your music edited in any way there will be a 20$ fee to our sound person.


If entrant is currently holding a title, title must be immediately relinquished in writing signed by contestant, parent and pageant director at the time of contract signing. Contract signing is held before the Festival. Certain Non representative titles may be acceptable, please contact director to discuss this. There are exceptions for certain titles, please contact director with any questions.


Winner of the pageant cannot accept or compete for another title until her Spot Festival crown has been relinquished in October of 2019. If for any reason, the winner cannot fulfill her obligation as a North Carolina Spot Festival Queen, she must relinquish her crown, all prizes, and awards to the first runner-up.


The winner will be expected to attend designated functions during her reign which will be noted in the contract. The winner will also be responsible for raising a set minimum amount of funds through out the year for the Scholarship organization as well as a platform/ Organization she chooses on her own. The amount is set per age of queen. The contract must be signed by winner and parent/guardian. All other appearances must be approved by the North Carolina Spot Festival Director. We are looking for girls that want to give back, will be happy helping others and spend there year growing and experiencing giving back to others. Scholarship recipients must complete all required appearances, participate in all required fundraisers and meet all fundraising goals and deadlines to receive her scholarship.


The contestant understands and agrees that the NC Spot Festival, Pageant Committee or venue are not responsible for personal injuries or loss of personal property during the rehearsal periods and the weekend of the pageant.


Failure to comply with the rules and regulations will result in disqualification from this pageant or loss of crown.

NC Spot Festival Scholarship Pageant Information

Ad sales-
Ad sales are not mandatory for basic competition but are encouraged, the person with the most sales will receive an award. The program book will be 8x10. Deadline for ad sales is at the parent contestant meeting.

People’s Choice-
Collect votes , each vote is 1$ so if you turn in 50$ then you will be counted as 50 votes! The contestant with the most votes will receive a gift! Some people in the past have set up a jar at a local restaurant with their permission and received votes that way. Check back often to collect your money and votes! Asking family and friends for your vote is also another way. This is not mandatory but one winner will receive a gift. All people’s choice money must be turned in at parent/contestant meeting.

* All money must be turned in by this meeting, including: entry fee, ad sale money, ad sale
prints, pre ticket sales and People’s choice votes. All of this can be emailed to me ahead of time as well. or sent to paypal through family and friends to ncspotfestivalpageant@gmail.com (if using paypal please note exactly what money being sent is for and contestant name)

The North Carolina Spot Festival has the right to refuse any contestant who is not complying to this application or that has not submitted the proper requirements by the deadline or from any other reason the Pageant committee sees fit from completing in the NC Spot Festival Scholarship Pageant. All Fees paid will not be reimbursed.


Sunday September - INTERVIEW/ PAGEANT DAY!
Doors open at 9:00am Pageant starts at 4pm, seating will begin at 3:30. We ask that everyone stays off the stage until after the photographer is done to speed up the process. Interview time will be announced once rehearsal time is in place.

Ticket Sales:
You can also sell pre sale Admission!! All advance tickets will be 7$ all money must be turned in at rehearsal. The contestant and dresser will not need tickets. Tickets at door are 10$ all children under 5 are free as well as visiting queens. Program books will be sold for 5$ each. For all pre-sold tickets a VIP list will be at the ticket booth so make sure to turn in names with your pre ticket orders, only names on that list will be allowed admission without paying.
