British Council's Festival Connections presents:
Festival audiences: The stories data tells us
In the cultural festivals and events sector, festival attendees are one of the most important stakeholders. A key factor in building festivals that grow every year is understanding your audience — knowing who they are, where they are from, what they like, and what value a festival can bring to them.
When operating at scale, we learn about our audience through the data we collect. Registration and feedback forms, emails, websites, Instagram handles and YouTube channels, all become entry points in helping us understand more about our audience.
In this workshop, we invite festival professionals to explore how to learn more about audiences, and how to use data to paint a picture:
a) Identifying your audience and collecting data about them — the best practices on collecting your audience data, the platforms to use while collecting data, where and how to store data, the types of data to be collected and more.
b) How to read and use data — how to understand who is interested in your festival, who your potential customers or collaborators are, how we can use the data we collect for the future editions of the festival.
Date: Thursday, 23 September
Time: 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. IST
Ideal participants: Festival professionals with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the festival sector.
The workshop is suitable for professionals working in the space of marketing, audience data, and analytics in the festival space.
Note: This is a workshop with limited capacity.
