Zero Robotics Program Description
Learn to write code to control NASA's Astrobee satellites aboard the International Space Station and compete for the title of Zero Robotics Champion!  Zero Robotics is a 6-week coding tournament in which high school students learn to program robotic satellites aboard the International Space Station (ISS).  Learn more about Zero Robotics at  zerorobotics.mit.edu.
ZR Program Dates
The ZR program will run from January 9, 2025 - February 21, 2025.  This competition will be in-person at your respective schools or community-based organizations (with online/virtual flexibility).  This program can operate as a before-school club, an afterschool club, a weekend club, or as an in-class elective class.

January 11, 2026 - Code of Ethics Commitment signed & Pre-program survey complete
January 12, 2026 - Game Begins Online
January 19, 2026 - Team Name & Description Due
January 23, 2026 - Practice Code Due
January 30, 2026 - Practice Code Feedback & Alliances Announced
February 13, 2026- Final Code due to MIT
February 18, 2026 - Code Development Presentation Due to MIT
February 21, 2026 -Zero Robotics Finals at MIT(viewing parties available at alternate locations)

Program Days/Time  
Your school/program/team has flexibility of when, where and how you meet!

Team Composition  
4 (min) to 15 (max) High School students and an Adult Advisor (teacher, parent, coach).

Cost
This program is FREE.  We have no entrance fees to participate, and we do not require that you purchase any special hardware or software - everything is web-based.

All teams and their families are invited to MIT on February 21 for the ZR FINALS
