On 24 February 2022, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin announced his intention to forcibly dissolve the Collectif Palestine Vaincra and another pro-Palestine organization, at the request of France's president, Emmanuel Macron.

This shameful action comes after an ongoing campaign led by far-right Israeli forces and their supporters in France. It is a blatant violation of freedom of expression and association and follows on the path of the dissolution or threatened dissolution of Muslim, Arab, pro-Palestine and leftist media associations in France.

Solidarity with Palestine is a right and a duty. The French government continues to provide ongoing diplomatic and political support with the Israeli apartheid regime, engage in military cooperation and joint projects as it commits war crimes and engages in colonialism throughout occupied Palestine.

This attack violates France's obligations under European and international law. It is an attempt to silence the growing campaign to boycott Israel and support the liberation of Palestine through the use of intimidation and criminalization.

We strongly condemn Darmanin's announcement of his intention to dissolve the Collectif Palestine Vaincra and the use of dissolution to silence support for Palestine and the Palestinian people. We stand for the rights of the Palestinian people and against criminalization of Palestine. We stand with the Collectif Palestine Vaincra!
