Kōkua Learning Farm Youth Internship Application - Spring 2024
Thank you for your interest in the Kōkua Learning Farm Youth Internship program. Youth Internship provides a great opportunity for students to:
  • Gain experience as mahiʻai(farmers) through on-farm training to build skills and knowledge around agro-ecology, crop cultivation, fruit and vegetable production, and soil health maintenance.

  • Become ʻāina stewards to the loʻi and kalo library and expand connections with the community.

  • Use farm fresh produce and learn about different cooking techniques and flavor profiles. Take home harvested produce and recipes to share with ʻohana and friends.

  • Grow knowledge and skills to plan, maintain, and harvest a home garden. Garden supplies, seeds, and starts will also be available for interns to start their own home garden if desired.

  • Gain community service hours for graduation requirements.

No gardening or farming experience is necessary to participate. This is a continuous 15 week on farm internship, not a drop in program. Please review dates carefully and assess if you are able to commit to the entirety of the program before applying.
