WoLab presents... the Actor-Writer Showcase ~ in partnership with The CentrE17, supported by Arts Council England.
WoLab's Actor-Writer Showcase is back and we are thrilled to this time be partnering with The CentrE17, to deliver our FREE 12-week intensive course. Funded by the Arts Council, and led by industry professionals, this programme is aimed specifically at actor-writers.

Over the 12 weeks, the group will develop their existing playwriting and acting skills through a series of tailored workshops, which will also include mentoring sessions in producing and marketing, as well as regular visits from established playwrights/theatre makers within the industry. All participants will be working towards a industry showcase to an invited audience of agents, casting directors, programmers, and producers. Throughout the duration of the course, participants will write their own monologue to perform for the showcase, as well as co-write a duologue with another member of the group. They will receive personalised support and feedback during the process.

Our cohort from last year have been very successful. Some have gone on to perform at the Almeida Theatre, Young Vic, National Theatre; others have had their work published by Oberon, and staged at Curve Leicester, Sheffield Theatres and Hope Theatre. One of our previous participants was also the winner of the Adrian Pagan 2020 Award.
