Theme and Prizes

Theme: “Christmas Vacation”. Whatever you decide whether that is a day at the beach or night with the Griswold’s, a trip to New York City or Florida with the McAllister’s. Christmas in the snowy mountains, Paris?

Prizes: Plaques awarded for the first 3 places in each category. Cash awards will be given to the top floats in each category.

$300 Grand Prize to the top overall float
1st: $100, 2nd: $75 and 3rd: $50

Official Categories


Civic/Non-Profit: Any local service club, veterans' post, fraternal society or association, volunteer fire or rescue groups not organized for profit but operated exclusively for educational or charitable purposes. Example: Rotary, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Mainstreet, Political, Wagoner Area Neighbors, Government Entities, Churches, etc.

Commercial: For profit businesses and organizations. Example: Banks, barbers, photographers, loan companies, tax preparers, etc.

Youth/School: Groups with an overall membership or population of youth 18 and younger. Example: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Dance Groups, Schools, Youth Groups.
Official Rules

ONLY THE OFFICIAL “SANTA CLAUS” PARTICIPATES IN THE PARADE AND HE COMES ALL THE WAY FROM THE NORTH POLE.

• Must have the details of entry written on application form for the MC to read aloud.
• Must have entry number and name on the left-hand side of your entry.
• All entries must have lights.
• All entries must have float number displayed.
• No sirens aloud
• No candy may be thrown from a riding/driving position. If you wish to throw candy you MUST have a walker between your entry and the float. Walker needs to be close to the crowd and throw candy into the crowd so that parade spectators do not have to get out into the street to pick it up.
Entry Numbers and Judging
Entry Numbers

Your entry will receive a number corresponding with your position in the parade. If your entry is to be judged this number is to be on an 11x14 size poster board attached to your entry on the left front side.

Call the Chamber no earlier than 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2nd, 2020 to get your entry number. We won’t be able to inform you until then. Float numbers will also be posted on our Facebook page. Just type in Wagoner Area Chamber of Commerce in the search bar on Facebook.

Entrants are strategically placed by the Chamber for overall flow of the parade. No specific spot is guaranteed.

Line Up, Horses, and Bands
Lineup
After you have been given your number you will know what street you need to turn down by referencing it. The lineup will begin at the intersection of E. Cherokee & N. Story. Entries will be lined up along N. Story St to head south. (SEE MAP #1)

The route will go west on Cherokee & turn south on Main St. and go south one block and turn east on Church. The parade will disburse in the parking lot of the First United Methodist Church located at 308 E Church Street in Wagoner. School buses for bands will park at the end of South Main after Church Street. (SEE MAP #2)

All parade entries are invited to enter the First United Methodist Church for FREE hot chocolate and cookies after the parade! The church is across the street from Bancfirst and the Post Office on their address is 308 Church Street, Wagoner.

Horses
All entries with horses will be positioned at the very end of the parade behind the float carrying Santa Claus. No exceptions.

Bands
Bands are pre-selected by the Wagoner Area Chamber of Commerce. Due to COVID-19 precautions we will no longer be providing pizza. Pre-selected bands receive a $200 stipend from the Wagoner Area Chamber of Commerce.
