Hi Family-Lee! I'm Lindsey, mom of Marisol (2nd) and Avi (4th) and I am the Community Cares rep for the PTA. As part of the community cares role, the PTA helps organize Thanksgiving meal boxes and school supply donations for families/staff at our school in need of financial assistance.

I would like to gauge interest from our school community for participating in additional activities to support the broader Austin community and promote volunteerism in our students. If this may be something that interests you, please take a minute to share ideas about what you may want to participate in.

What activities would you be most interested in participating in and/or participating with your child?

Coats for Kids Drive (https://www.jlaustin.org/coats/)

Donating other items to families at our school or community (shoe drive, school supplies, etc.)

With other Lee families, sponsoring a family at a "sister" school to purchase holiday gifts and household supplies/groceries for the winter holiday

Putting together "comfort bags" for Ronald McDonald house

Putting together a Lee team for the CASA Superhero race (CASA provides support to kids in the court system who have experienced abuse or neglect)

Organizing a litter clean up through Keep Austin Beautiful
