#ReUPChafee: Urge Congress to Continue Support for Older Youth from Foster Care During COVID-19
TAKE ACTION - and sign onto a letter to Congress!
We are seeking support from national, state and local organizations and individuals dedicated to improving the well-being of young people in and from foster care to sign on to a letter urging Congress to act swiftly to ensure crucial supports to older youth in and from foster care are extended. These supports were provided under the Supporting Foster Youth & Families through the Pandemic Act in December 2020 and many are set to expire on September 30, 2021.
On September 3rd, a bipartisan bill (H.R. 5167) was introduced by the Congressional Caucus on Foster Youth co-chairs: Representative Karen Bass (CA-37), Representative Don Bacon (NE-02), Representative Jim Langevin (RI-02), Representative Brenda Lawrence (MI-14), and Representative Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) which would extend these critical provisions.
Congressional leaders need to HEAR FROM YOU - their constituents - to understand the urgency and importance of taking action to support older youth.
Please consider signing on to this letter ASAP.
