Breaking Down Barriers: An International Women's Day Panel Event

International Women's Day Panel Event

Come join WTG and Athena Swan for an inspiring panel event celebrating women from all walks of life! The event will be held at the Queen's Students' Union in Belfast, UK. Get ready to hear from amazing speakers and engage in thought-provoking discussions. Let's come together to empower and celebrate women's achievements. Don't miss out on this exciting event!

Some of our speakers include Aoife Clements, the CEO of 50/50 NI, Sophie Nelson, Policy Officer of HERe NI, Maureen Hamblin, an activist for racial inequality and Olivia Hughes, a successful young restraunter here in Belfast.

We have also teamed up with Menstruation Matters Belfast to run our first Charity Fundraiser! Instead of charging an entrance fee, we ask that if possible, attendees take with them some unopened period products. This can be a small box of sanitary pads, a couple of sealed tampons or a pack of unused underwear etc. This will not only help someone out there who cannot access period products but also counter the stigma around periods.

Here is a quick look at how the day will be run...

11.30 am - Pre-event refreshments: Tea, coffee and some sweet treats will be served before the event. This is your chance to find your seat and chat with other attendees.

12 pm - Introduction: We ask that all attendees be seated at this point to allow for the panel event to start.

12.10 pm - Hear from the Panel: All speakers will be allowed some time to talk about their life stories, any barriers they faced as women in their careers and what they have learned.

12.50 pm - Q&A: All attendees will have the opportunity to ask the speakers a question.

1.20 pm - Feel free to network and continue your conversations until 2pm!

Can't wait to see you all there!!!
