Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival 2019 Bake-Off : "Hudson Valley Harvest"
Everyone has an idea for a story, and this is your chance to bring that story to life‘ HVSF's playwriting workshop will feature exercises that will teach you the basics.
What is a Bake-Off?
Created by the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, the Bake Off is a communal writing event in which writers are given a random list of “ingredients” to incorporate into a play (for example: a kitchen sink, a front porch, and a withheld secret) to help inspire creativity and give writers permission to play. In preparation, Hudson Valley community members are invited to attend a free play-writing workshop led by Literary Manager of Long Wharf Repertory Theater, Christine Scarfuto. All workshop participants can submit short plays to be considered. Between 3-5 of these plays will be performed by professional actors as part of the Community Bake Off: Evening of Short Plays on November 24, at the Depot Theater in Garrison, NY. This year, the Bake Off theme will be “Harvest."
