Certification Information

In order to obtain the title of Certified Therapeutic Horticulture Practitioner (CTHP™), course graduates must demonstrate EITHER:

A current professional designation or certification in a *related field (e.g. CTRS for recreational therapists)

OR BOTH OF:

A degree and/or diploma in a *related field
Hands-on work experience in a therapeutic horticulture or a related field* role of a minimum of one year (minimum 500 hours)

Please note that you may take the Advancing Skills course without these requirements, but cannot use the Certified Therapeutic Horticulture Practitioner - CTHP™ designation until the requirements above have been met.

*Related fields include human services professions such as recreational, occupational, art and animal therapy, social work, counselling, psychotherapy and psychology.
