How Much Does it Cost to Join?
This is my favorite question because Cub Scouts is one of the cheapest kid activities around!

REGISTRATION: Total due at sign up is $165.25 and that covers your membership for 1 year with the National Scouting America.  That is less than $15/month…definitely one of the cheapest kid activities around!  Your membership will renew one year from when you sign up.

UNIFORM: Your scout will need a uniform, which can be purchased from the scout store below or online at www.scoutshop.org.  A brand-new uniform (shirt, zip-off pants, belt, patches, neckerchief & slide) runs about $125 (we also have hand-me-down uniforms available if needed).

SCOUT BOOK: Book can be purchased at the scout shop as well and different for every grade level.

PACK T-SHIRT/SWEATSHIRT: You can purchase a Pack T-Shirt for $15 or Sweatshirt for $25.  Scouts, siblings and parents/guardians wear them to outdoor activities and messy events.  They are optional.

PACK 365 PATCH: You can get a custom Pack 365 Patch for $5.

Are There Any Monthly Fees?
No monthly fees!  You pay for your scouting program one year at a time.

Through scouts selling popcorn each year we can fund our program. It also gives scouts an opportunity to earn their way through their cub scouting adventure! The pack spends about $400 per scout to operate the pack, from office supplies, to awards and renting a space to store our gear, it all adds up! However if scouts work just 4 shifts of popcorn sales, this covers all those costs!
I Don't Think I Can Afford Cub Scouts...
We firmly believe that no child should be prevented from scouting due to finances.  We have funds set aside for those who need assistance.  We also have hand-me-down UNIFORMS available for free!

Please read through the following link if you might need financial assistance:

Each year, our pack participates in an amazing fundraiser.  Almost every scout earns their entire scouting year (dues, activities, uniforms) all for free!

When & Where Do You Meet?
Our Pack meets every Monday 6:00-7:00pm at the Community United Methodist Church located at 1480 Poplar St, Oakdale.  We have families from many surrounding cities who join our stellar program.

The first Monday 6:00-7:30 of each month is a Committee Meeting.  All parents are encouraged to attend to help plan upcoming events, make decisions and think of great ideas for our pack!  Scouts are left at home or brought with a quiet activity.

On the 2nd and 3rd Monday of the month, your scout will meet with their grade level Den group, they will work on advancement and other fun activities!

On the 4th Monday we have a Pack Meeting, the entire group gets together to celebrate all of the achievements for the month!
Older Siblings?
If you have other children ages 10-17 they can join Troop 365 which conveniently meets at the same location and day.  Their meetings are 5:30-7:00 and for boys & girls.
I Can't Make Every Meeting and Activity
There are no requirements to attend meetings and activities.  We understand that life happens, so come to the meetings and activities that you're able to.  Obviously, the more you attend the more your scout will promote in rank and earn adventure belt loops...and the more fun they'll have!

Do Parents Have to Volunteer?
Short Answer: Yes, Every parent has something to offer the pack!

Cub Scouts is run by unpaid volunteers and we encourage parents to help to the extent they are able.  Some of our key leaders put in as much time to Cub Scouts as their regular job!  Not everyone needs to be in those key leader roles, but everyone can pitch in and help.  There are many positions and opportunities to help, both large or small.  We appreciate it all!
When Should I Sign Up?
Now!  New Cub Scouts join our pack year-round.  We follow a traditional school schedule with official weekly meetings kicking off in August and ending in April.  We still meet for activities in the summer months (just no weekly meetings).
Can Girls Join?
YES!  Each year Scouting America survey families and one of the number one requests from families was for their daughters to be able to join Cub Scouts along with their sons.  The daughters were coming to all of the meetings and participating in the activities but couldn't earn any awards or recognition.  We are so glad girls are now able to join our pack and we have many who love scouting!
Girls in Cub Scouts!
What Ages are Cub Scouts?
Cub Scouts is for boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade.  If you have boys or girls 10-17 yrs old, they can join our Troop 365!
Can I Bring My Other Children?
Y.E.S!  Cub Scouting is Family Scouting!  Siblings (both younger and older) and parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend any of our meetings and activities.
Will My Child be Safe at Your Meetings?
Cub Scouts takes the safety of your child VERY seriously.  It is required  that Kinder and 1st graders have a registered adult partner with them at all times, and we encourage a registered adult to be present with all other scout grade levels as well.

Official adult leaders have a background check performed and have completed the Youth Protection Training.

As a safeguard, one scout and one adult are never left alone.  There are always either two adults or two scouts together at all times.  When using the restroom, scouts take a fellow scout "buddy" with them.  Adults and scouts are not allowed to be in the restrooms at the same time.  At Pack 365, we have separate restrooms that scouts and adults can use.
Den Meetings are where scouts make great friends, learn helpful skills and have FUN!
What Happens at a Normal Meeting?
We start with the color guard presenting the American and Scouting flags.  We recite the Pledge of Allegiance, Scout Oath and Scout Law.  Awards, patches and recognition comes next, along with any announcements.

We then break into smaller dens, which are separated by grade levels.  Your child will join other children in their specific grade to work on activities and adventures geared for their particular level of learning, led by a den leader.  Parents are involved and present at all meetings.  We finish with the color guard retrieving the flags and dismissal.  Meetings are 1 hour long. Typically 6pm - 7pm
What Kind of Activities Are on Your Calendar?
We have about 2-3 activities per month and they are AMAZING!  Some of the highlights include camping, fishing day, pinewood derby, beach day, rocket day, summer camp, hikes, scouting for food, cavern tours, police and fire department visits, overnighter at the Fresno Zoo and USS Hornet and more!  Come to the activities that work best for your schedule and interest you!
