This survey is part of a study conducted by Ryan Boothe and Dr. Jared Chapman to investigate the levels of success which multilingual adults experience in their careers. You are invited to participate because you are an adult with skills in more than one language.
If you agree to participate in this research study, the following will occur: you will complete an online survey taking approximately 20 minutes about your language abilities and how you use them, or do not use them, in your career.
We do not anticipate any risks or discomforts associated with completing this survey. If at any point you would prefer to not complete the survey you may opt out.
It is hoped that through your participation researchers may find information that will help people from all over the world use languages in their careers more successfully than they currently do. Even though this may benefit you indirectly the survey will include no direct benefits to you.
The research data collected in this survey will be kept online in a password protected environment and on a password protected computer. Only the researchers will have access to the data. At the conclusion of the study, all identifying information will be removed. All information will be analyzed in aggregate and the identity of all survey participants will remain anonymous.
No compensation will be provided for this survey.
Participation in this research study is voluntary. You have the right to withdraw at any time or refuse to participate entirely without jeopardy to your class status, grade, relationship with a professor, or standing with a university. Individuals must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
