The following are opportunities to volunteer and/or participate during Week One
On 8/22, from 1:15pm-4:00pm, at MLK Middle School, we will be having a Culture Carnival that celebrates the cultures that make our school community special. Staff and community members will be facilitating activities that showcase an aspect of their cultural background (food, music, arts/crafts, dance, games, holiday tradition, etc...), and students will get to engage in a variety of activities throughout the afternoon.
On 8/22, in the evening, from 5:30pm-7:00pm, we are having a MLK Family Culture Celebration and Potluck with food and performances.
On 8/23, during the school day, students will be participating in team building activities at a local park.

Las siguientes son oportunidades para ser voluntario y/o participar durante la primera semana
El 22 de agosto, de 1:15 p. m. a 4:00 p. m., en la escuela secundaria MLK, tendremos un carnaval cultural que celebra las culturas que hacen que nuestra comunidad escolar sea especial. El personal y los miembros de la comunidad facilitarán actividades que muestren un aspecto de su origen cultural (comida, música, artes/manualidades, baile, juegos, tradición navideña, etc.) y los estudiantes podrán participar en una variedad de actividades durante la tarde.
El 22 de agosto, por la noche, de 5:30 p. m. a 7:00 p. m., tendremos una celebración cultural familiar de MLK y una comida compartida con comida y actuaciones.
El 23 de agosto, durante el día escolar, los estudiantes participarán en actividades de formación de equipos en un parque local.
