High-Tech and Neurological Disorders (HAND) at UCLA is hosting our 4th Annual Neurological Disorders Awareness Night (NDAN) on May 15 (Friday), 5:30PM to 7:30PM in Neuroscience Research Building 132 (NRB 132)

This year's theme is "Aging and Memory"

The evening will feature 3 guest speakers:
1. Dr. Jeff Bronstein (MD, PhD, Director of Movement Disorders Program at UCLA)
2. Dr. Stephanie Leal (PhD, Director of the UCLA Neuroscience of Memory, Mood, and Aging Laboratory)
3. Dr. Keith Vossel (MD, MSc,  Michael M. Minchin, Jr., President, J.D. French Alzheimer’s Foundation Endowed Chair and Professor of Neurology)
4. Q&A Panel

HAND will also present a brief segment on our latest Virtual Reality (VR) project. Living With Parkinson’s Disease is a UCLA-developed virtual reality simulation designed to help users better understand the lived experience of Parkinson’s disease. By modeling both motor and non-motor symptoms through interactive tasks, the project aims to promote empathy, awareness, and community engagement around Parkinson’s.

Check-in begins at 5PM with light refreshments. Come early to meet various health organizations and student clubs, such as Parkinson's Community Los Angeles (PCLA), UCLA Synapse, UCLA Brainwave, UCLA Neuroscience Undergraduate Society, and UCLA Youth Movement Against Alzheimer's (YMAA)!

This event is supported by UCLA USAC and SWC. As this is a Green Event, we encourage all attendees to bring their own note-taking supplies and water bottles.
