The Emerging Leaders in Sustainable Aviation (ELSA) Network is a not-for-profit subsidiary of ATAG with a mission of inspiring and educating the next generation of aviation leaders to play a key role in ensuring the industry reaches net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Climate change is the biggest challenge facing the aviation industry, and today’s young professionals will hold those critical leadership roles in 2040 to 2050 (and beyond) when the pressures of climate change are expected to peak. It is therefore important that young professionals have the opportunity to build networks around this topic and are equipped with the skills and knowledge that will be required to navigate this challenging period.
Additionally, ELSA aims to be a platform to encourage more young people to work in the aviation industry, by showing them the many opportunities to make a large impact and be a part of the positive transition of the industry.
Objectives
The ELSA Network has four key objectives:
- Provide a platform for young professionals to connect with one another, and current industry leaders.
- Highlight key issues and emerging opportunities for sustainable aviation to our members
- Facilitate personal and professional development of our members
- Be a catalyst for collaboration between both individuals and organizations
