RNMS Band/String/Chorus Sign-up 2018-19
Dear Music Parents or Guardians:

Rye Neck Middle School offers music performance options where students can learn to prepare, rehearse and perform with other musicians. These options include 6th grade band, 7/8th grade band, string ensemble 6-8, and middle school chorus 6-8. Students participating in our instrumental programs (band and strings) must rent or purchase an instrument from a local music store supplier as soon as possible.

It is important that you and your child are able to commit to practicing at home, attend rehearsals and seasonal concerts as scheduled. This year's concerts are scheduled for Wednesday December 19th, 2018 and Thursday May 23rd, 2019. All performances take place at 6:00p.m. in the Rye Neck Performing Arts Center. Ensembles will begin on Monday, September 17th, 2018. A lot of preparation and dedication will be required to make these performances memorable. Excused absences will be allowed if your child has a quiz, test or illness. Please ensure that you or your child remain in contact with their music teacher regarding attendance.

MS Band Schedule: Students will play three times a week, one pullout lesson and two band rehearsals (before school).
Pullout lessons will begin on Monday, September 17th. Each student is scheduled for one lesson per week on a prescribed day. The lesson period will rotate throughout the periods of the day from week to week. Students must check in with their respective teachers before coming down to the band room (B-2), for a lesson.
