We the undersigned ask the State of Illinois, Amtrak and their partners to re-establish passenger rail service extending from Rockford, IL to Dubuque, IA as soon as is practicable. Two round trips daily through Galena, Freeport and Rockford to Chicago on modern equipment should be the minimum service. This represents a safe, environmental and reliable route to benefit business, tourism and student travel in Northwest Illinois and neighboring areas in Iowa and Wisconsin which are currently under-served.
