alpha Kappa Delta Phi was established at the University of California at Berkeley in the fall of 1989, and recognized by the College Panhellenic Association on February 7, 1990. The fourteen founding sisters: Betty Chu, Karin Co, Susan Kim, Nancy Lee, Sherri Leung, Annie Loo, Belinda Ma, Anita Ng, Serene Ngin, Fannie Pon, Josie Sun, Daisy Wu, Jill Yoshimura, and Reina Yuan, dedicated themselves to establishing a strong and lasting organization, which would provide Asian-American womxn the opportunity to participate in the Greek system. Soon after being recognized by the College Panhellenic Association, the founding sisters brought together a diverse group of women who shared with them the goals of sisterhood, scholarship, and leadership. These ideals would later set the foundation for alpha Kappa Delta Phi’s purpose.

Being a member of our sorority can offer many benefits. Joining a sorority can enhance your undergraduate life by:

b) allowing you to experience personal growth in dealing with a diverse group of women

Rush for aKDPhi takes place during the first couple weeks of the new school semester where the sisters organize various events for girls interested in joining a sorority. The period of rush is to see whether or not going Greek with aKDPhi is something that interests you. It's a time to meet and have fun with the sisters and learn what our sisterhood is about. Our events are not mandatory and everything is free!

aKDPhi was founded at University of California, Berkeley and has since become the largest and fastest-growing international Asian-interest sorority with 60+ chapters! Among our many accomplishments, we take pride in our unparalleled dedication to service by raising awareness and funds for breast health and cancer research, raising over $1,000,000 since the inception of our philanthropy.
