Eligibility: Open to all residents within the City of Oakdale boundaries.
Entry Fee: Free! No cost to participate.
Application Deadline: Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. on December 1, 2025.
Decorations: Only exterior decorations will be judged, including window displays visible from outside. Judging will take place from the street.
Judging Criteria: Based on “curb appeal” as seen from the street. Only decorations on the street-facing side of the property will be evaluated. Corner lots will be judged from both street sides.
Public Voting Period: A map of entries will be available on the Love Oakdale website beginning December 6, 2025. The public will be invited to vote online through December 15, 2025.
Judges: The Small Town Christmas Committee will select the winner from the top five homes selected in the public judging period.
Photo Release: Participants and winners agree to allow photos and/or videos of their decorated homes to be posted online or published on social media. No compensation will be provided for publication.
Addresses will be listed on the Love Oakdale Light Fight map and shared on social media.
Prizes:
Grand Prize Winner: $500 cash prize and bragging rights! Winner will also receive a perpetual trophy to proudly display until the 2026 contest.
2nd - 5th Place winners: $100 gift card to an Oakdale restaurant so you can go out and celebrate your win!
Winner Announcement: Grand Prize Winner will be announced online on December 20, 2025.
Compliance: All participants must adhere to city and county regulations when setting up holiday decorations.
