Use this form to let us know which committee(s) you are most interested in joining.
The Elizabeth River Trail Foundation (ERT) is always looking for new perspectives and voices to join our committees. The ERT is for everyone and we need your help in achieving the trail's mission and vision. Being on a committee is a great way to expand your network, build new skills, meet new people, and be involved in future trail developments. Please select at least two (2) committees of interest and we'll find a place for you.
What are the Committees?
Fundraising:
The ERT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit working to develop a trail and a foundation with long term sustainability. Many projects to achieve that goal require funding, either through grants or fundraising. Committee participation includes regularly attending meetings, sharing and promoting fundraising efforts with your network, and providing direct support, or leading, at least one fundraising effort each year. Be a part of the team that helps ensure the ERT is making the best stakeholder connections and strategically planning for their fiscal future. Meeting schedule is the second Monday of every month in-person at 4:30 PM with occasional virtual meetings.
Programming & Marketing:
The Programming and Marketing Committee help direct the vision of our free events and programs, marketing, merchandise, and outreach. Help support events, social media creation, provide insight and feedback on planning and logistics, and help make our trail shine! Committee participation includes regularly attending meetings, volunteering at 3 events per year minimum, and leading at least one event per year with staff support such as litter cleanups, beautification, outreach campaigns, tabled events, and more. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM via Zoom with occasional in-person meetings.
ERT For All:
The Elizabeth River Trail has something for everyone. The DEI Committee plays an integral role in every aspect of the ERT Foundation. Members provide unique insight, perspectives, and skills that inform trail projects, marketing, outreach, and more. Participation includes regularly attending in-person meetings, volunteering at 3 events per year minimum, and leading at least one event per year with staff support such as tabled events, volunteer appreciation or committee social events, outreach campaigns and events, and more. The DEI Committee meets in-person on the last Wednesday of every month from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Assembly in Downtown Norfolk.
