Chorus Expectations

Chorus students are expected to:

  • Follow all school rules and expectations.  If they do not, they risk being asked to leave the group.  The first is a warning.  The second will be parent contact. The third behavior problem may result in a dismissal from the group.  This includes all behavior at school, not just during chorus.

  • Attend all rehearsals and performances.  If a student misses more than 5 unexcused rehearsals, or one unexcused concert, this may result in dismissal from the group.  If a student misses a performance for an unexcused reason, they may be asked to leave the group.  We must work as a team and when someone is missing, we let the team down.

  • Commit to one full year of chorus. Students are committing to the full 2023-2024 school year

  • PRACTICE AT HOME!

Parents are expected to:

  • Arrive on time, and be prompt in picking up and dropping off your students for practice and performances.

  • Notify Ms. Gleacher by email for expected absences. 

  • Commit to enforce full year of chorus with their child, and help teach them that we don’t quit right when it gets difficult, or a little boring. Ms. Gleacher is available for extra help on Mondays,  and upon request.

  • Attend your child’s performance as an audience member

Media Release *
As in the past, recordings, photos, and videos are taken at concerts and other chorus events throughout the year. This media will be shared with parents and students through newsletters, hung the bulletin board outside the music room, in the yearbook, and the Gemini morning news. Selecting Yes below grants permission to the director to reproduce, print, or publish photographs and/or audio/video recordings of my minor child if selected to participate in the Gemini Chorus performing ensemble.
