Operation Hood Volunteer Form
Thank you for taking the time to submit an application to Volunteer for Operation Hood. Our mission is to promote TNR and help with the spay and neutering of community cats. One of our biggest needs is for individuals to assist with trapping and the recovery of the cats once spayed/neutered. We depend solely on volunteer support to continue our efforts with our TNR (Trap, Neuter Return) Program. Please take a moment and submit your application and a representative with Operation Hood will contact you. Time is a gift and we appreciate your willingness to help us continue to make a difference in the lives of so many innocent cats in our community!

Transporters
Transporters are needed to get cats to and from appointments. Our spay/neutering appointments are local and our dental procedures are done in Richmond. The Richmond transport is usually an all-day transport. Transporters are a vital part of our organization and serve in many areas helping cats along their journey to a forever home.
Temporary Foster Placement/Socializing Foster Parent
There are times with TNR we need a temperary foster placement to coordinate getting the cat(s) in need placed with another rescue or local shelter partner. There are also times when the need arises for a "Socializing Foster" who is willing to work with a cat or cats that needs time, love and patience allowing the foster to report back on behavior etc. to help find placement for them to be placed accordingly.

TNR RECOVERY TEAM
We need willing individuals to provide care of cats that have been TNR'd giving them time to heal after being spayed or neutered. Males are usually released the day after surgery back from where they were trapped, unless they have an issue and need additional time to heal, and females are released 2 to 3 days after surgery. We provide the training and walk you through the process, you will need a small, protected area the cats in traps can recover in safely limiting stress so they can heal and be released back from where they were trapped. Join us in helping community cats!
