Thank you for choosing to participate in the 2018 Horseradish Festival Pageant! The pageant is an activity of the Horseradish Festival and Chamber of Commerce. To register your child, please read the rules below & then answer the questions/submit this form. For Baby & Petite Miss contestants ONE caregiver/parent must be responsible and present onstage and with the contestant at all times. Horseradish Committee Members and Volunteers cannot be responsible for watching contestants.
General Pageant Information/Rules
· The 2018 Little Bitty Horseradish Festival will be held on Saturday June 2 from 10:30-12pm on Main Street in Collinsville, IL. The contestants will need to arrive by 10am dressed and ready to go.
· Relatives (daughters, sons, grandchildren, nieces, nephews) of pageant committee members are not eligible to compete.
· Baby Miss Contestants must be between walking and 23 months of age on the date of the contest and Petite Miss Contestants must be between the ages of 2 and 3 years of age on the date of the contest.
· All contestants must live in Madison, St. Clair, or Monroe counties (The Horseradish Capital of the World!)
· There is a $20 participation fee for all contestants which includes a participation shirt.
· There is a maximum of 15 contestants for each title and applications are accepted on a first come basis.
· Contestants cannot be a current titleholder for any other pageant.
· One mandatory rehearsal will be held prior to the pageant:
o A walk-thru rehearsal will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018 at a later determined time.
o Rehearsal is closed and only parents/legal guardians and siblings may attend with the participant.
· This is “fun” pageant, not a beauty pageant. Personality plays an important part of the judging. Please do not use make-up, wigs, or other enhancements on the contestants.
· Decision of the judges is final.
· Attire for this event is age and weather appropriate party clothes. Please keep all attire modest and youthful.
· Contestants will be asked to showcase their personality in a minute or less with the help of their caregiver. Contestants will also be judged on their smile and outfit.
· A minimum of 2 finalists will be chosen in each division. If there are fewer than 5 participants in any division all participants in that division will be finalists.
· Each category winner will receive a sash and crown. All contestants will receive a goody bag and a medal.
· Baby/Petite Miss Horseradish Festival will be expected to:
· Participate in this year’s Italian Fest Parade on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Line up for the parade begins at 2:30pm and the parade will start at 4:00pm. Baby & Petite Miss winners will provide their own decorated wagon or stroller and walk in the parade ahead of the Little & Junior Miss winners.
· Participate in at least two other parades during the next year. Parents of the winners are responsible for providing transportation to be used during the parades, as well as to and from these events.
· Appear at the 2019 Horseradish Festival Pageant.
· The winners may also be asked to make additional, but optional appearances. They will be responsible for their own transportation and arrangements. The number of additional appearances is at the discretion of the parents.
· For the safety of the contestants, flash photographs may not be taken during the pageant. You may take pictures or video with no flash.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTAL
Pageant Entry Forms must be submitted no later than May 19, 2018. All submissions are done through a Google Form located at
www.internationalhorseradishfestival.com under the “Events” section. The Google Form is where you will provide your participant’s information, your contact info, indemnification agreement, bio, shirt size, talent, and fun fact. and your $20 participation fee can be mailed to or dropped off at the address below. Checks should be made to the International Horseradish Festival.
