36th LD Caucus Delegate Registration Form [Deadline: March 23]
ABOUT: The below form is to register to run to be a Delegate for the 36th Legislative District Democrats at the 2022 Washington State Convention. Please provide all information as completely as you can, as this information will be required to attend the State Convention on June 24-25, 2022, which will be held in person at the Tacoma Convention Center, with a non-excuse needed virtual participation option for those who would prefer not attending in person. The 36th LD is entitled to send 39 delegates and 19 alternates to the State Convention, and the total of male and female candidates cannot differ by more than one. Those who identify as gender non-binary do not count in the split between male and female.

VOTING: The 36th LD Caucus vote will take place on Saturday, March 26. This will be a "meetingless" Caucus. All voting members of the 36th will be e-mailed an electronic ballot with the names of all registered delegate candidates by 10 a.m. on March 26. You will have until 6 p.m. on March 26 to complete your ballot.

ELIGABILITY: Any Democrat residing in the 36th LD as of March 23 is eligible to run for Delegate. To appear on the ballot distributed to voting members, any Democrat residing within the 36th Legislative District must declare their intent to stand for election, and provide any supporting information they desire to be communicated to voting members, no later than Wednesday, March 23.

The Delegate selection rules passed by the WSDCC require Districts to notify the State Party how many of its delegates will be attending Convention virtually or in-person no later than April 1st. As a result, please let us know if you will be planning to attend virtually or in-person when you register so we can communicate this information promptly to the State Party upon your election.

Delegate selection rules require that delegations be divided equally between male and female individuals. Those individuals who do not identify binarily as either Male or Female should select "Gender Non-Binary". These individuals do not count in the split between Males and Females. For instance, a Legislative District may have 5 males and 4 females, or 3 males, 4 females, and 2 gender non-binary individuals, as the difference between males and females is not more than 1, but may not have 2 males, 4 females, and 2 gender non-binary individuals, as the difference between males and females is 2.
