The USATF Pacific Foundation George Kleeman Training Grant is for Pacific Association USATF member athletes who are done with college competitions (as of the applicaton deadline) and are pursuing their dreams to be on Team USA.
As we head into the 2026 Outdoor season our target George Kleeman grant award is eight $1,000 grants and an additional $4,000 to disperse among the athletes that qualify for and attend the USA Outdoor champs held in New York at Icahn Stadium. Since the proposed Kleeman grant deadline is the day that the USA Champs qualification window closes, we will know which athletes are attending the Outdoor champs thus we can award those athletes the higher grant amount. Some events at the Outdoor champs will cap at 16 athletes, but our grant minimum qualification is a mention on the Top 20 performance list. This will allow us to award grants to athletes who are performing at a high level but may have just missed the cut for Outdoor champs.
The grant committee proposes targeting grant funds towards eligible Pacific Association athletes who are on the top 20 performance list (2026 USATF Outdoor Performance List as of July 12) or meet the minimum qualification standard for the 2026 USATF Open Championship. Athletes who have not met the qualification standard will be considered on a case by case basis.
