ECOSLO Seas to Trees Day 2019 Project Proposal
Thank you for your interest in being involved in ECOSLO's 2nd Annual Seas to Trees Day! Seas to Trees Day started in 2018 as a way for volunteers of the SLO County community to get outside and care for their local environment from the seas to the trees. Last year there were 6 projects hosted by four organizations, including: invasive ice plant removal, tree planting, as well as both beach and creek cleanups.

Seas to Trees Day 2019
Saturday, May 4th from 9:30am-Noon

This year, we wanted to reach out to the Eco-Network to allow YOU to propose and host your own projects to get volunteers involved in. ECOSLO will handle all marketing, recruitment and coordination of volunteers. You will simply propose a project, and if selected, work with ECOSLO leading up to Seas to Trees Day to communication with volunteers and then manage the project that day. If you've worked with us as a Coastal Cleanup Day site captain/host in the past, think of the setup similar to that.

If you have a project in mind please consider submitting a project proposal to be involved with this years Seas to Trees Day. Please read the project proposal guidelines listed below.

Project Proposal Guidelines:
-- Seas to Trees Day projects should be nature/environmentally-based and should be fulfilling to the volunteer (ex. no "painting indoors" projects, organizing an office, etc.). They do not necessarily have to be physical labor, we are looking for variety in these projects!
-- We are looking for a variety of locations across SLO County, as well as inland and coastal opportunities.
-- Submissions must come from a staff member (or a board member if your organization is all-volunteer) of a SLO County environmentally minded organization and not individuals.
-- Volunteer projects can range from a minimum of 5 volunteers to a maximum of 30 volunteers.
-- Project details must be provided in application (includes any necessary permits, supplies, parking details, etc.).
-- Volunteers will be instructed to meet at your project site at 9:30am and the volunteer project will run from 10am-Noon.
-- Someone from your organization must be present on the day of the project to lead the group of volunteers.
-- Projects must take place within SLO County
-- Projects must be submitted for review by ECOSLO staff no later than Friday, March 1st at 3pm PST.

Please keep in mind that project proposals *must* be submitted for approval and while we'd love to support everyone, we are still in the process of establishing this event and won't be able to support every project proposed, thus not all projects are guaranteed to be chosen. We expect there be be a maximum of 8 projects for this year's Seas to Trees Day and they will be chosen based on the criteria above.

*Please remember* PROJECT PROPOSALS ARE DUE FRIDAY, MARCH 1. You will be notified of the results by Friday, March 15 by 3pm. After this point, you are expected to stay in communication with ECOSLO and help in outreach and promotion for your project.

If you have any questions, please reach out to ECOSLO anytime at or call at (805) 544-1777. Please keep in mind we are typically in the office Tuesdays - Thursdays.

Thank you and we're looking forward to your participation in this years Seas to Trees Day!
