PARADE RULES AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

By submitting this entry form, the participant agrees to the following:

1. All participants must follow the instructions of parade officials, law enforcement officers, fire department personnel, and designated lineup volunteers. 

2. Entries must report to the designated lineup area at the assigned time and remain in their assigned position.

 3. All vehicles must be operated by a properly licensed driver and must have current registration and insurance as required by law. 

4. Participants riding on floats, trailers, or vehicles must remain safely seated or positioned while the entry is moving. 

5. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. 

6. Alcohol, illegal substances, reckless conduct, dangerous driving, and unsafe behavior are prohibited. 

7. Nothing may be thrown directly at spectators of the parade. Candy and promotional items may be distributed but must be handed directly or tossed to the sidewalk. 

8. Entries using horses or other animals are responsible for maintaining control of the animals and immediately cleaning up after them. 

9. Participants must maintain a safe distance between entries and keep pace with the parade. 

10. Parade officials reserve the right to reject or remove any entry considered unsafe, inappropriate, disruptive, or inconsistent with the family-friendly nature of the event.

RELEASE, WAIVER, AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

I understand that participation in the Valley District Fair Parade may involve risks, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, vehicle-related accidents, falls, animal-related incidents, weather conditions, and the actions of other participants or spectators.

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation and the participation of the organization, group, drivers, passengers, volunteers, minors, animals, and other individuals represented by this entry.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to release, indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Valley District Fair, its board members, committee members, volunteers, sponsors, participating property owners, parade officials, and affiliated organizations from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising from or related to participation in the parade, except where prohibited by law.

I certify that all vehicles used by this entry are properly maintained and insured and that all drivers are appropriately licensed. I accept responsibility for the conduct and safety of everyone participating with this entry. I also certify that I am authorized to sign this agreement on behalf of the organization or group listed above.

I grant permission for photographs and video recordings taken during the parade to be used for promotional, informational, and social media purposes by the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department and Valley District Fair without compensation.
