Project SURVIVE, CCSF's peer education program to promote healthy relationships and prevent sexual violence, along with the Women's & Gender Studies department, invites students and partners in our broad community to engage in a series of discussions to explore possibilities for healthy masculinities, with a focus on joy, healing, and liberation.
These structured conversations are open to everyone and focusing on men and masculine people. The events are designed and facilitated by Dr. Alejandro Covarrubias -- an organizational consultant for diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, and President of Foundations for Hope and Justice Consulting -- and Dr. Mauro Osborne-Sifuentes -- advocate for racial, gender, and educational justice, community storyteller, and CCSF professor of Women's and Gender Studies.
Participants in each event will share a healthy community meal prepared by students in the CCSF Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies department. The events will be held on Monday afternoons, 3:30-6:30 PM, April 17, May 1, and May 15, 2023.
This is a free series for those interested in learning more about the Project SURVIVE community at CCSF, but
pre-registration is required. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all three events, and those who do have a chance to win preloaded payment cards for use to buy food!
