I support hiring a Sustainability Director in Bedford

1) I support the Town of Bedford hiring a full-time Sustainability Director as was recommended in Bedford's Net Zero Plan, presented to the Select Board in 2019.

2) Understanding that climate change is driven by carbon emissions, I support Bedford's goal of transitioning away from fossil fuels towards renewable energy and electrification across all sectors.

3) I understand that a Sustainability Director will dedicate themselves to seeking grant funding and implementing innovative projects to reduce Bedford’s emissions across all sectors, promote sustainability, and improve our quality of life and that of our children.

Examples of sustainability initiatives can include: reducing food waste and energy consumption, supporting renewable energy choices such as solar, advising on zoning changes that aid in emissions reduction, composting, recycling, efficient transportation, affordable housing and climate resilience planning.
