BMS collects and holds personal information relating to its students and their parents/carers and may also receive information about students from their school and/or local authority. BMS uses this personal data to:
- support delivery of its services
- support student learning (including sharing relevant information with the student's school or college where appropriate)
- monitor and report on student progress
- assess the quality of BMS services

This information will include the student’s name, date of birth, school attended, parent/carer address & contact details, emergency contact details, financial details of transactions between us, attendance information, relevant assessments of musical capability, personal characteristics such as ethnic group, special educational needs and relevant medical information.

SPECIAL INFORMATION
If your child has a special need, allergy or medical condition that BMS needs to know about, this information is likely to constitute special information. BMS will hold this information securely and only use it for the safety and protection of your child. Any information you may have provided about the student's ethnic origin is likely to also be regarded as special information.
