Hawaii Youth Ambassador Application to World Youth Congress: 2017
In celebration of the homecoming of the Hōkūle`a Worldwide Voyage, Peace Child International: Hawai`i in partnership with the Polynesian Voyaging Society, will be hosting the 2017 World Youth Congress (WYC) on Oahu. The WYC will bring together 350 local and international youth leaders (ages 15 – 25) to discuss and identify actions to support the achievements of the Worldwide Voyage and the United Nations Sustainability Goals. Participants will grapple with the Congress theme, Reconnecting to Our Ancestral Roots to Build Sustainable Communities. The week will be filled with inspiring youth-led workshops, world-renowned keynote speeches, statewide action projects embedded in our local communities, and an array of innovative cultural events including a closing international cultural festival in Waikīkī. Throughout these activities, participants will focus on developing an action toolkit that will accompany the United Nations Proclamation to support efforts of young people around the world.

Priority will be given to young people aged 15 to 21.
