2026 season update:
Spots for the 2026 season are currently full. However, we are actively building a list of new players, potential expansion teams, and new divisions for the 2027 season.

Season timeline:
- Registration for 2027 opens in November, rosters are finalized in January
- The season runs from late March through August, with Nationals in September

FREE AGENT Interest:
- You’ll be added to our free agent list, but placement on a roster is not guaranteed.
- Team managers begin reviewing the free agent list in November and may reach out to players they’re interested in signing.
- In divisions with enough interest, we may also form free agent teams

EXPANSION TEAM Interest:
- Teams must have a minimum of 16 players and can carry up to 25, with the league average around 18. Forming a team is the best way to guarantee entry into the NBHL.

DIVISION Interest:
- If the NBHL isn’t in your area yet, we can build a division there to get your area playing
- We need three key pieces to get started: a committed Division Director to run operations, a rink that supports full 5-on-5 play, and enough player interest to form teams. Typically, that means around 60+ players to create four teams and launch a division.
